City of Amarillo Stresses Dangers of Interacting with Wild Animals

The summer months are almost here, and the City of Amarillo wants to remind you about the dangers of interacting with wild animals.

The city says there is at least one confirmed case of rabies in a non-domestic animal, and they have offered some tips on how to keep you and your pets safe.

Keep vaccinations current for all pets and animals including horses and livestock, avoid contact with wild or unfamiliar animals, report all bites to AAMW as soon as possible, and clean any bites with soap and warm water before seeking medical attention.
