City of Amarillo Names Laura Storrs As Assistant City Manager

The City of Amarillo Announced that Laura Storrs has been named Assistant City Manager.

Storrs has been with the City for more than 14 years starting out as an accounting intern later turning into the City’s Finance Director.

“This is a great opportunity for me to further serve the Amarillo community,” Storrs said. “I am excited to help continue improvements and positive momentum already begun throughout our  community.”

In her new role as assistant city manager, Storrs will serve as the chief financial officer for the city, in addition to other roles.

Storrs is a certified public accountant and holds a Master of Professional Accounting from West Texas A&M University.

“Laura’s career with the City of Amarillo has been exemplary and outstanding,” said City Manager Jared Miller. “She has served the city and its residents admirably in many different roles,  including managing the city’s finances. Laura’s flexibility and knowledge of so many aspects of city government will be beneficial to the entire community in her new position as assistant city manager.”
