City of Amarillo Gives Update on New Thompson Park Pool

The future of the New Thompson Park Pool is one step closer to having guests.
The new pool will include a lazy river, slides, volleyball and basketball area, a concession area and a new parking area.
Parks and Recreation Department Director Michael Kashuba.
The new pool design was approved by residents and later voted on by council in May of 2020 for $7.9 million.
The original Thompson Park Pool opened in 1931. Following multiple repair and renovation projects through the decades, the pool was closed due to structural issues in December 2018.
It is scheduled to open around Memorial Day of 2021.
