City Of Amarillo Closures During High Temperatures

The City of Amarillo has expressed concerns about the high heat and has canceled events and closed facilities in the hope to keep residents safe. 

Two Projects of Amarillo Parks and Recreation, Starlight Theatre at Sam Houston Park, and Outdoor Recreation Programs at Glenwood, Memorial, Sam Houston, and Cityview Parks have been canceled for today. 

The Amarillo Zoo and Amarillo National Tennis Center will close at noon.

Some parts of the Panhandle are expected to be up to 110 degrees Farenheight, so consider safety during activities.
