Child Shot Thursday

A juvenile has been wounded following a Thursday afternoon shooting near Sam Houston Junior High School in Amarillo.

Police were called to the scene at 4:00 P.M. in the area of south Bellview, and found the juvenile shot with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s believed another juvenile shot him.

Police have identified the suspect as being 15 years old, and has been booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains
for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The joint investigation was carried out by Neighborhood police, patrol officers school liaison, and PACE officers
