Chase Ends In Arrest Of Sex Offender

A wanted sex offender was arrested after a police chase in Amarillo.

At 3:50 p.m., police tried to stop William Forester, 49, on parole violations for failure to register.

He was on parole after serving time for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in San Angelo.

The officer who tried to stop Forester recognized him from a call last week where Forester was the suspect of a hit and run.

Forester initially pulled over at a convenience store.

But when the officer walked up to the pickup, Forester drove off.

He eventually stopped the truck on Colorado Street, got out, and ran.

Forester was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail
