Chase And Crash Knocks Out Power In City’s Northside

A chase by Amarillo Police ended in a crash that knocked out power in the early morning hours.

Authorities say the suspect attempted to flee from police and crashed into a power pole at Northwest 18th Avenue and Hughes Street. 

Xcel Energy says that over one thousand customers were without power until crews could replace the pole.

 The suspect was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
