Celebrating 60 Years of Music Dedication

A special celebration is happening at the Polk Street United Methodist Church to celebrate the birthday and retirement of a lifelong music teacher and community member.

Dr. George Biffle has been a music educator and church choral director for 60 years, teaching in various classrooms in Amarillo High, West Texas A&M, Amarillo College, and more.

He has also served as the director for both the Amarillo Symphony Chorus and the Amarillo Civic Chorus.

Many former students of his are choir directors in the Amarillo area at Randall, Caprock, and Canyon High Schools, as well as Canyon Jr. High.

Dr. Biffle is being celebrated at the God and Country Service on the 26th starting at 10:45.

This service is open to the public to celebrate God’s promise and our country’s freedom.

There will also be a special song written in George’s honor, and hot dogs and hamburgers will be served after the service.
