Castro County Enacts Shelter In Place Order

Officials in Castro County have enacted a Shelter in Place Order starting at 11:59 pm Tuesday March 24th until 11:59 pm on April 3rd.

This order means residents should take shelter in their homes to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The Sheriff’s Office says this is not a lockdown and there will be no roads blocked. 

No restrictions will be placed on farmers rancher or their workers.

Grocery stores, convenience stores and gas stations will remain open and residents are asked to comply with limit purchases.

This order was implemented due to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention concern that the COVID19 Virus was community spread in Castro County and with 4 confirmed cases now in Castro County
