Canyon Welcomes New Director

The City of Canyon welcomes Lucas Riley as the new Director of Planning and Development. 

This position is responsible for development processes, city planning, code enforcement, building safety and permitting, and floodplain administration. 

The previous director, Danny Cornelius retired in march, and the search began for the new Director. 

Raley is from Abilene and received his bachelor’s in Urban and Regional Studies and his master’s degree in city and Regional Planning from Cornell University. 

He has previous experience as the planning and program manager for Thoma Development Consultants, and also has his certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners.
