Canyon Teachers of the Year

The Canyon Independent School District has recently announced it’s 2021-22 Teachers of the Year in their elementary and secondary schools.

Kristi Van Winkle from Lakeview Elementary is the Elementary District Teacher of the Year, while Aly Harmon from Canyon Junior High is the Secondary District Teacher of the Year.

Each school voted for a Campus Teacher of the Year award which in turn was given to a district-level committee.

The committee then reviewed the essays and did in-classroom observations to determine the District Teacher of the Year winners at elementary and secondary school levels.

All in all, 19 award winners, one from each of Canyons Schools was selected as Campus Teacher of the Year.
