Canyon ISD Meets Thursday To Talk About Firearms On Campus

In-step with other school districts throughout the Panhandle, the Canyon Independent School District is holding a special meeting Friday to discuss the possibility of selected staff members to possess firearms while on campus.
Dalhart. Channine, Claude and Sanford-Fritch ISDs have all implemented policies like this. However, these policies are bolstered by training and evaluations to assure those authorized to carry are qualified to do so.
The CISD will vote on this tonight at 6 p.m. at the school district support center.
