Canyon High School Lockdown

UPDATE: CISD officials say they have given the all clear after police and other officers were unable to find anything to legitimize the bomb threat earlier in the morning Tuesday.

The threat caused Canyon High School to lockdown and two neighboring campuses to initiate a secure mode condition.

The investigation cleared the CHS campus, including the grounds outside.

CISD says the normal schedule will resume for the day.

ORIGINAL STORY: Canyon ISD officials say Canyon High School is on lockdown while law enforcement investigates a bomb threat.

Law enforcement told school officials this may be a copycat situation related to yesterday’s incident at Amarillo High School.

Police are sweeping all exterior areas and officials are preparing students to evacuate the building so interior areas can be checked.

Students are being evacuated to the football and practice areas, and are being monitored by police.

School officials say all students are safe and are asking parents not to come to the Canyon High School campus at this time.
