BSA First Responder Certifications

First Responders in Amarillo now have a new tool in their toolbox to fight traumatic events on the job.

BSA Behavioral Health says that their clinic’s providers have been awarded certifications to treat all first responders.

A Certified First responder counselor associate says 80 percent of the first responders experience traumatic events in the course of doing their jobs.

This clinic is not just available to the City of Amarillo, but to all surrounding cities in the Panhandle.

Prior to the crisis center being developed, first responders had to travel to Dallas to get the special care they needed.

The Behavioral Health Offers treatment for a large range of trauma including PTSD, anxiety, and depression
