Borger Native Casey Campbell Career Milestone

Chief Musician Casey Campbell of Borger advanced to the rank of senior chief petty officer in the United States Navy on May 25th during a promotion ceremony among friends, family and shipmates.

As one of five chiefs in the United States Navy Band selected for advancement to senior chief, Campbell joins a prestigious list of just 2% of Sailors that will reach the rank of E-8 throughout their career in a total force that exceeds 330,000 personnel.

Keeping with tradition, select family members and shipmates ceremoniously removed the chief collar insignia of their Sailors and replaced them with their newly earned senior chief devices.

Campbell joined the Navy Band Sea Chanters chorus as an alto vocalist in 2005 after completing a Bachelor of Music in education and a Master of Music in choral conducting from Texas Tech University. She studied voice with Karl Dent and Kathy McNeil and conducting with John Dickson. Senior Chief Campbell was recently selected as a concert moderator and primary soloist with the Concert Band.

The United States Navy Band is the premier musical organization of the U.S. Navy. Comprised of six primary performing groups as well as a host of smaller ensembles, “The World’s Finest” is capable of playing any style of music in any setting.
