Borger Approves New Housing Development

The City of Borger and its Economic Development Corporation have approved a new housing development to attract residents to the city.

Six acres of land, with an additional 30 acres for future phases, is the idea the Corporation came up with, and the city has planned for 25 new lots, with the additional 30 acres, which will equal around 130 homes.

City officials say over 91% of Borger homes were built before 1995, and that can create a problem when we are trying to attract and retain those employees here,

The goal is to keep workers to stay in Borger and increase the tax base.

Water, sewer, and other infrastructure work is set to begin in April.
