Amarillo College Police Hosting “Books and Badges”

Amarillo College police kicked off a program Tuesday morning called “Books and Badges”.

The program is described as one that will encourage reading and form cop-kid relationships.

The program kicked off at the Hagy Childcare Center and featured AC Officer Monica Jackson and Chief Scott Acker.

During the event, the cops read to the children.

More plans are on the way to expand the program to other childcare centers and schools in the future
