Blaze Causes $1 Million In Damages

West Texas Golf Cars suffered an estimated $1 million in damages from a fire earlier today.

Amarillo firefighters were sent to a two-alarm fire at 6439 Canyon Drive around 12:30 p.m. today after multiple people reported fire and smoke.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, the first crew to arrive on the scene found 20 to 30 golf carts involved.

Downed powerlines delayed firefighters from getting water to the affected area.

Xcel Energy shut off the power and firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 1:30 p.m.

Around 26 firefighters from eight units responded to the incident.

Police assisted with traffic control, according to a statement from Amarillo PD.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
