Benton Park To Be Upgraded

The first of 14 parks in Amarillo will be getting a much-needed facelift.

Benton Park, located at S.E. 16th Ave. and Vernon Street, will be receiving upgrades thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.

The playground was originally built in 1992, and will soon include a brand-new swing set, merry-go-round and resurfaced parking lot.

Installation of the new upgrades is set to begin early next week.
