Benefits Of Shopping Local

The City of Amarillo wants to remind residents of the importance of shopping local.

Just before Thanksgiving 2017, City of Amarillo kicked off its “Buy the Way Keep It Local” campaign.

The City of Amarillo was recently able to bring in 11 new positions to the Amarillo Police Department including 6 new police officer positions and add 5 new positions to the Amarillo Fire Department.

Sales tax increased 2% over last year for March 2019 which adds to $546,000.

Amarillo City Councilmember Elaine Hays recently announced plans to expand the BTW campaign, including encouraging Amarillo businesses to purchase their inventory locally.
