Ascension Academy Student Receives National Recognition

Ascension Academy announced that one of their students, senior Emma Engler, was named a National Merit Commended Scholar.

The competition started last year with over 1.5 million juniors over 21,000 Schools who took the 2019 Preliminary SAT and National Merit Scholarship qualifying test. 

This year there were 34,500 students honored nationally, and Emma was one of around 4,300 students selected from Texas.

Since she started school, Emma has kept up with her studies, as well as responsibilities in clubs and organizations. 

She spoke highly of the experiences she had.

She also spends her time working with Snack Pack for Kids and collects donations for the Amarillo Downtown Women’s Shelter.

While her plans are not set in stone, Emma would like to continue her education after she graduates in May of 2022.
