Arrest Made In A Structure Fire on SW 55th Avenue

The Amarillo Fire Department and the Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a structure fire on Sunday at approximately 2:30 p.m., in the 5000 block of SW 55th Avenue. Upon arrival, it was reported that the Amarillo Police Department had detained one individual at the scene. David Lynn Sprague was arrested on suspicion of Arson of a Habitation, a first-degree felony. The AFD’s response to the incident involved a total of six fire apparatus and 19 personnel. Fire suppression teams extinguished the fire. The estimated property loss is reported at $2,500, with content losses estimated at $150. The Fire Marshal’s Office has filed a case with the Randall County District Attorney’s office.
