The Amarillo Police Department has taken 250 thousand dollars worth of methamphetamine off the streets.
On August 8th a person told APD Officers that a man known as “Joe” was going to be selling meth in Amarillo and that he would be meeting with him to receive a half-pound of meth.
Police identified “Joe” as Joseph Hinosoja from photographs.
At 9:55 p.m., police observed Hinojosa arriving at the parking lot of United Supermarket at 4701 South Washington Street to meet with the person who spoke with police.
Amarillo police arrested Hinojosa and found one-half pound of a crystalline substance that tested positive for meth.
Police executed a search warrant for Hinojosa’s home, in the 4200 block of South Hayden Street, and found about five pounds of meth along with firearms, body armor, and money.
Hinojosa later admitted to selling meth and in being in possession of meth.
Hinojosa’s girlfriend was with him at the time of the arrest but was later released.
