APD Reminds You To Take Precautions Against Auto Theft

In 2018 the Amarillo Police Department had 950 reports of stolen vehicles, 830 of them were either left running or had the keys left in them.
The Amarillo Police Department reminds you to never leave a vehicle running while unattended and never leave your key or a spare key in your vehicle or even in one that is parked by it.
Just by doing these two simple things we can all work towards lowering the number of stolen vehicles in our city.
