APD INVESTIGATING SHOOTING

Amarillo Police Department is releasing more details about a Monday shooting in northeast Amarillo.

At  3:25 Monday afternoon, APD was called to a home at Northeast 12th and Iris Streets.

Witnesses told officers that there was a fight in the street and a 28-year-old man, left and came back with a baseball bat.

Police found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound, and the shooter is identified as a 19-year-old man.

APD says the 28-year-old man tried to attack the 19-year-old and was shot receiving life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made and police are still investigating.
