APD And Potter County Sheriff’s Stage Rescue At Canadian River

Thirteen people are now safe thanks to the Amarillo Police Department and the Potter County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities were called to the Canadian River at 10:40 p.m. Saturday after several people became stranded.
Off-road trucks were stuck in the middle of the river and people had fallen off their vehicles into the water.
The APD Dive Team, firefighters and drone pilots were all called to search for people up and down the river.
Rescue efforts were conducted until 3 a.m. making sure everyone was out safely.
Officials say that river conditions are extremely dangerous with the recent storms and warn the public to use caution.
