America Adame: GROE App

America Adame is an Amarillo local who has seen many ups and downs throughout her life.

She attended and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 2010 and was not entirely sure what she wanted to do with her life.

During 2012, she was unfortunately in a very abusive relationship with a man, who, in 2013 was incarcerated for first-degree murder, right before America had her first child.

The man was released in 2015, to await trial and on the same day that he was sentenced to life in prison, America discovered she was expecting her second child.

From this point, she made the decision to focus her life and complete her college career.

She graduated from Amarillo College and got a dual-bachelors degree from West Texas A&M University.

America sacrificed many opportunities and time with her kids to place herself ahead in life.

Now, with college behind her, America has partnered with a software company to produce a phone application called Groe: Generating Resources Overcoming Economics.

The app aims to help guide families and individuals out of poverty and transition them into a better economic position that is completely anonymous for all users.

On Friday, March 20, from 6-8 P.M. America will be hosting a launch party at the Amarillo National Bank in the Skyline Room, floor 16, for the launch of the Groe app, 410 S. Taylor Street, 79101, Amarillo.
