Amarillo Zoo Black Bear Passes Away

The Amarillo Zoo is mourning the passing of its Black Bear, Perioso.
The bear has been a resident of the Zoo since 2004 and was 26 years old.
He was humanely euthanized due to serious health complications. American Black Bears have an average lifespan of 20 to 25 years.
Due to advanced age, Perioso was showing an overall health decline.
