Amarillo VA Health System Celebrates Women’s Veterans Day

The Amarillo VA Health Care System celebrated Women Veterans Day this month at both Amarillo and Lubbock campuses to recognize and show respect to the women who have served.

Dating back to June 12th, 1948, women have been vital to our armed services, as that day was the introduction of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act written into law by then-president Harry Truman.

From Army veteran Dr. Carmen Stein to Marine Corps veteran Marlene Ford, guest speakers spoke to both campuses with a reminder of how much women were needed in years past and how much they are essential now.
