Amarillo Travel and Tourism Industry Seeing Good Numbers From November

The Travel and Tourism Industry in Amarillo for November is up 14 point 2 percent from 2019.

To continue on that thread, Amarillo is going to have to rely on the weather at the ski slopes in the western mountains.

Hope Stokes from the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau says the city is in a crossroads where people have to pass through Amarillo to get to their ski destinations.

She says small road trip cities like Amarillo are getting better traffic than larger cities like Dallas and Austin.

Amarillo is also credited with a lot of outdoor activities like Palo Duro Canyon and the Cadillac Ranch and with the holiday season upon us, Amarillo Botanical Gardens and Maxwell’s Magical Christmas, the city is seeing a lot of out of town visitors since a lot of the places are shut down because of the Pandemic.
