Amarillo Special Olympics Polar Plunge

It’s that time of year when the Special Olympics of Amarillo is getting ready for it’s Polar Plunge.

Every year different Amarillo organizations plunge into freezing cold pool water to raise money for the local Amarillo Special Olympics athletes.

The Polar Plunge takes place on Saturday, February 5th at the Amarillo Town Club, and registration starts at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast and coffee from 8 to 9:30 and the plunge begins at 9;30 a.m.

The cost is 30 dollars for youth under 18 and 60 dollars for an adult. That entitles you to a long sleeve t-shirt. A 200 dollar donation gets you a tee, and a SOTX beach towel. 400 dollars all that and a polar plunge tumbler, 800 dollars getes all that and a LETR windbreaker.

The most money raised, at least one-thousand dollars gets all of that plus a Polar Plunge umbrella
