A new day and a new way for the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association.
They will now be known as the 55 Plus Club of Amarillo.
The group is under new leadership and they are trying to get the doors open to a new senior center on 6th Street
The organization’s new Board of Directors trying to raise an additional 800 thousand dollars to complete phase one a 2-point 2 million dollar project to open the doors of the new facility.
Once the money is raised, the 55 Club wants to expand to the Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest sides of Amarillo.
The Amarillo Senior Citizens Center was formed 50 years ago in 1973.
