Amarillo Runners In Chicago Marathon

Amarillo’s Ronald McDonald’s House will be represented in the Bank of America’s Chicago marathon.

The seven local runners raised at least 1,750 dollars for the cause in support of the organization’s mission.

Team Amarillo ranks number eight in the nation when it comes to fundraising among other RMHC teams and this is the first year the Amarillo Chapter has been recruited as a team to run in the marathon.

On top of the fundraising, the runners had to prepare physically to participate.

The organization’s mission is to provide care, comfort, and support in a homelike situation to families of children getting medical treatment.

It costs approximately 85 dollars a night to house a family, and due to fundraising efforts like this, RMHC Amarillo will be able to provide family members at no cost.
