Amarillo Police Department Recruiting Female Officers

The Amarillo Police Department is looking for a few good women.

Thursday the department is having a recruiting event to target females.

Sgt. Carla Burr a 26 year veteran of the APD tells us more.

Burr added that women can work in any department and field at the APD and that current women on the force come from all aspect of life, as in moms, married women, and those who are single.

The event will be held Thursday from 5 pm until 7 at the APD station on 200 South East 3^rd.
