Amarillo Man Indicted on Drugs, Gun Charges

An Amarillo man has been indicted on drug and firearm charges.

U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton says 28-year-old Gabriel Michael Rendon was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana, and possession of  machine guns, and firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and a felon in possession of a firearm.

His wife, 26-year-old Jane Marie Burgess, was charged with making false statements during the purchase of a firearm.  

The indictment reads that  Rendon had 76 firearms, including 43 pistols, 23 rifles, four shotguns, and four revolvers.

She also testified that Rendon was armed at all times when he was at home.

If convicted Rendon could get life in prison, while if Burgess is convicted, she could be sentenced to 10 years in prison
