Amarillo Housing Market Getting Smaller

Amarillo’s housing supply is dwindling.

According to area realtors it only has a two-month supply and it’s putting strain on realtors across the city.

Fewer houses are being sold and people are less likely to sell with a lack of availability.

Now, the lack of homes, it’s going to drive prices up.

Amarillo has had to become creative to make houses available for sale and is making public and private partnerships to build high-density homes, like apartments, townhouses, and condos.

The challenge is bringing utilities and other city infrastructure to new homes in the city outskirts is another reason behind the trend.
