Amarillo House Fire

A house fire in Amarillo Friday morning put both the fire department and Xcel energy into action.

Firefighters were called out at 2:46 a.m. to a possible structure fire at 927 N. Cleveland Street.

When they arrived at the house, it was fully involved in flames.

The blaze was brought under control at 3:21 a.m.

Power lines were downed, and that’s when Xcel Energy went to work.

The Cleveland Street address caught fire in February of 2023.

Amarillo’s Fire Marshall is looking into the cause of the fire.

Northeast 11th Street – between Cleveland and Arthur Street – were closed because debris from the burned house was in the road.
