Amarillo Fires Through The Weekend
There were six fires in the Amarillo area throughout the weekend.
There was one fire on the 18th at 713 North Mirror Street in the early morning of the 18th. It was extinguished with a water pump can, and there were no injuries.
Three fires were handled on the 19th. The first was in a residence that reported smoke in the morning. After an investigation into the structure, the fire was found in the attic and put out. There were no injuries.
The second was at the 3000 block of Northeast 27th Avenue after 5 pm. After a cooking accident, the occupant was burned and sent to Lubbock for burn treatment, but the fire was out by the time firefighters arrived.
The third accident was a small kitchen fire in the 1500 block of Southeast 6th Avenue at 7 pm with no injuries.
One fire was reported Sunday afternoon at 1600 Northwest 14th, there was an attic fire that was quickly put out, and no injuries were reported.
Monday morning in the 3100 block of North Cleveland, there was smoke pouring out of an attic vent. Fire crews broke down the door and managed to quell the blaze before it got out of control, and the occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
Some of these fires were ruled as accidents, and the remaining are under investigation.
