Amarillo Fire, Police Respond to Blaze; Find Gunshot Victim

Amarillo fire crews responded to a storage unit fire in the area of Paramount Boulevard and Blackburn Street Friday morning.
KGNC has learned that both APD and AFD responded to the area after reports of someone firing off live rounds. A gunshot victim was found at the scene. It’s possible the injury was self-inflicted. He was immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injures.
Crews battled the blaze and thick smoke before bringing it under control. The fire is said to have involved at least three units.
The investigation into this incident is underway.
