Amarillo College Receives Huge Gift From The Wares

Scholarships and renovations will be the target of a $1.2 million gift from the Ware family, the owners of the Amarillo National Bank.

Five-Hundred-thousand dollars is slated to go towards the Mary Ware Scholarship Endowment with another half million going towards capital support for the Ware Student Commons renovations.

Another Two Hundred Thousand will go to establishing a Ware Athletic Scholarship.

College officials say the gift will be a lead gift towards the school’s Badger Bold comprehensive campaign, which will be rolled out in October.
