Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and Amarillo Kids First Show Support for Prop. A

The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and Amarillo Kids First held a press conference to express their support to pass Amarillo Independent School District’s bond propositions, especially Proposition A ahead of Saturday’s election.

Those who may not be familiar with this plan, Prop A is a $180.6 million dollar plan that will serve as restoration and beautification projects for our public schools, with our oldest middle school Austin as a focal point.

While this plan looks to serve as a benefit for the city, there are some who are on the fence in regards to what this means for property taxes for residents. While it is also understood just what is being asked of the community, this plan serves as a step in the direction of the future for the city’s youth, their families, and towards the growth of potentially bringing back what was once an even bigger Amarillo than what it is today.

For more information about what those taxes could look like for you with the passing of these propositions,  as well as the other propositions up for vote with AISD, visit here.
