Amarillo Board Of Regents Gives Permission To Buy Building

Amarillo College’s Board of Regents has approved to buy an Amarillo building to bring some of the school’s programs from its East campus closer into town.

The Board approved a measure, giving the school the ability to spend 4-million dollars to acquire the 57-thousand -square-foot building at 7161 I-40 West. The building use to be an Albertson’s grocery store and now houses a retail business, which will be there through August.

The college plans to relocate some of its technical education programs like machining tech, welding, as well as ventilation and HVAC.
