Amarillo 2nd In State For Alcohol Related Crashes

With the Labor Day holiday taking place this weekend, The Texas Department of Transportation is reminding everyone not to drink and drive.

In the Amarillo District in 2020, there were 414 DWI-alcohol related traffic crashes, resulting in 17 fatalities and 46 serious injuries.

In the city of Amarillo, there were 225 DWI-alcohol related traffic crashes, resulting in 6 fatalities and 26 serious injuries.

Amarillo ranks 2nd in the state when it comes to injuries and deaths due to alcohol related crashes.
