Amarill Bird Cannon – False Alarm

Shots fired Tuesday evening, got a lot of attention from Amarillo residents.

Amarillo Police Department Sergeant Carla Burr Says every once and awhile the Potter Couty Sheriff’s Office shoots off a bird cannon to scare off birds.

Normally, when the department fires off the guns they notify dispatch in advance to give them a heads up, but not this time.

This caused a glut of phone calls into the Office.
