AFD Responds To Structure Fire Tuesday Night

The Amarillo Fire Department was called out to a structure fire just before 8pm Tuesday in the 3300 Block of Wayne Street.

Once on scene, crews found a single story residence with flames coming from the rear part of the home.

Due to the large size of the fire and the close proximity to 34th street, the Amarillo Police Department was called out to block traffic.

Once crews entered the backyard, they discovered a vehicle plus a detached building and a large amount of combustible material on fire.

The blaze was finally brought under control at 8:57pm.

The Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the fire.
