AFD Responds To Fire At Enclave Apartments

The Amarillo Fire Department was called out to a structure fire at the Enclave Apartments at 6209 I-40 West.
At 2am crews arrived to find residents evacuating the apartment with smoke and flames showing from the roof and breezeways.
One person was taken to a local hospital with other residents being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire will take some time to determine due to the instability of the structure.
Damages to the complex was estimated at $700,000.
