AFD Rescues One In Morning House Fire

The Amarillo Fire Department was called to a residential structure fire located at 2020 Wichita 8:27 a.m. Saturday morning.  

The 1st crew on the scene reported a small amount of brown smoke coming from the gable ends of the home and started attacking the fire from the outside into the attic space.

Firefighters went into the house to finish extinguishing the blaze and to perform a search. 

There they found an unconscious occupant and emergency aid was given.

The patient was transported to the hospital and the Fire Marshal’s office was called to the scene.

This investigation is ongoing.
