ADVO “For A Cause Bar-B-QUE

ADVO’s Hope To Opportunities Foundation held ts first “Bar-B-Que for a Cause”on Saturday.

Teams from across the Panhandle were cooking up the ribs, brisket and chicken with the proceeds going to Hope Village, a transitional employment center.

The new center will feature a new warehouse and a strip center with a custom embroidery shop, custom framing shop, a coffee,tea and catering service as well as an ice cream parlor.

The goal of the new center is to get ADVO clients trained to join the workforce in Amarillo.

ADVO serves special needs adults as well as operating a vocational training center, adult day habilitation center as well as 28 residential homes for those with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Teams competed and the winner will be qualified for the Jack Daniels cook-off in Tennessee and the Royal Cook-Off in Kansas City

They plan for next years event in October to be open to the public.
