Amarillo College has received a grant from the Texas Workforce Commission for the purpose of integrating basic education classes with workforce training programs.

The aim, through the $187,500 grant, is to provide scholarships and support for 75 students in AC’s Adult Education and Literacy programs as they pursue pathways such as Nursing Assistant, Business Administration and Management, Welding and others.

The grant is for two years and officially began on Jan. 14th, which coincided with the first day of AC’s 2019 spring semester.
