AC Board of Regents To Hold Special Meeting

A special meeting by the Board of Regents of the Amarillo College District will be held beginning at 4:00 pm on Tuesday in the Palo Duro Room on the 2nd floor of the College Union Building  on the Washington Street Campus, 2201 S. Washington Street. 

Amarillo College regents will publish a legal notice on August 19, 2024, stating that the no-new-revenue tax rate for the Amarillo Junior College District for 2024 is 20-cents per $100 of assessed value. 

The voter-approval tax rate for 2024 published in the legal notice is 22-cents per $100 of assessed value. The Regents have recommended a tax rate of 21-cents. Regents are required to hold one public hearing on a tax rate change.  

The Board will also set the date to adopt the tax rate for 2024 and will schedule one public hearing regarding the tax rate for 2024. The meeting will have a time dedicated to taking public comments on other issues.
